Job Description


Our client a well-established tier 1 distribution company in Brampton is seeking a talented Payroll Specialist. This role will ensure the accurate and timely processing of payroll and address all related inquiries. It is a temporary contract with an opportunity leading to full-time placement along with competitive wages and a positive team environment.Key Responsibilities:

  • Process payroll by collecting, calculating, and entering data.
  • Maintain accurate employee records, including wages, benefits, and pensions.
  • Collaborate with team members to verify hours worked.
  • Process overtime, commissions, bonuses, and additional earnings.
  • Manage employee benefits and remittances (group benefits, pension plans).
  • Handle payroll-related queries from employees and management.
  • Prepare reports for HR and Accounting, and ensure compliance with garnishment orders.
  • Manage year-end tax slip preparation and government filings.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to legal standards.
  • Support Accounting with payroll-related entries and audits.
Requirements:
  • Proven payroll experience, with Ceridian Dayforce is required.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and Office Suite.
  • Strong understanding of payroll best practices and Canadian payroll legislation.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Trustworthy and able to handle confidential information.
