We are currently seeking a Payroll Senior Analyst to join our team in Halifax, Nova Scotia (CA-NS), Canada (CA).

• Processing company payroll: This role will be supporting payroll processing for 3 different entities during the payroll cycles
• Ensures all processes and procedures meet company and applicable federal and provincial legislative requirements as well as conditions of the union agreements (CBA)
• Will work with third party vendors to ensure accuracy and timeliness of payroll processing. Ensures the accuracy of payroll through balancing and auditing prior to submission
• Oversees statutory compliance adherence and raises requisite alerts as needed
• Provides guidance on payroll inquiries from internal and external clients
• Participates in planning, developing and implementing financial information systems that meet the information needs of a variety of constituents
• Assists with drafting payroll policies and procedures that provide for planning and monitoring of payroll costs
• Constantly looks for operational efficiencies and process improvement opportunities to ensure a balance between capacity and deliverables
• Performs other payroll related duties/projects as required
• Would be preferred if candidates can write and speak both French and Englis
• Experience with Ceredian Dayforce is desired

Basic Qualifications:

• 5 years Payroll experience with multiple comany codes for hourly hires
• 5 years experience working with validating time file data
• 5 years working with Excel spreadsheets
