Job Description

Position: Payroll Processing Manager
Location: Ottawa (Hybrid)
Salary: $48.00 to $57.81 per hour
Contract Length: 2 months (possibility of permanency)
Working Hours: Standard work hours (Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours)
Quantum Management Services is looking for a Payroll Processing Manager for a 2 month contract (possible conversion to permant employment). The client is an industry leading firm that offers interesting work and flexible opportunities. In this role you will be supervising a team of 5 specialists who are performing end-to-end payroll processing.
What you will do:

- Review tax notices being submitted from the state to assess the root cause - UKG issue, code issue, etc.
- Help register businesses and unregister businesses in the US states then work with HR Business Analyst to have these updates provided to UKG
- Conduct reviews of local tax requirements
- Perform quality control audits to ensure accuracy
- Oversee changes to employment contracts and new employee\'s contracts and terminations
- Manage the preparation of all Provincial, State and Federal tax obligations
- Review and approve all payroll payments
- Resolve payroll enquiries in a professional manner
- Other ad hoc issues that arise including Process/Control improvements, implementations etc
Qualifications:

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Payroll Processing
- Experience with Payroll HCM Applications (UKG preferred, Ceridian Dayforce, ADP, Workday, Oracle, etc.)
- Strong understanding of payroll compliance and tax implications
- Knowledge of general payroll compliance and payroll practices, procedures, operations, and Canadian/US legislation
- Team Management experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Advanced computer software skills, Word and Excel and other accounting/payroll packages
- Bachelor\'s Degree in Human Resources, Finance or Economics
