Established in 1966, Red Hat Co-operative Ltd. is the central packaging, marketing and distribution facility for numerous independently owned greenhouse operations. Payroll Officer

Position responsibilities:

Payroll:

Prepare daily timesheets for production personnel time tracking Verifying physical time sheets to Payworks timesheets for production personnel Processing of bi-weekly payroll, utilizing automated time and attendance collection equipment and software Ensure compliance with applicable legislation in all aspects of payroll remittances and reporting Respond to employee requests for payroll information Submit legislated payroll documentation as required and requested by Service Canada and CRA Provide information to employees and senior management on payroll matters and related Red Hat policies Prepare payroll journal entries Compile statistical reports relating to payroll information Liaise with all personnel and assist the Human Resources Manager with payroll related matters Other duties as assigned

Education and experience:

Completion of high school Post-secondary training, payroll or accounting certification preferred Two years related payroll experience preferred Experience with Payworks software strongly preferred Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and Outlook Must provide a satisfactory criminal record check
