Reporting into the Payroll Supervisor, the Team Lead, will support the payroll team and act as a resource for all AIM divisions in Canada.

Operational component

• Provide an advisory role to Payroll Technicians (team of 6 employees).
• Contact for requests from accounting and government institutions.
• Complete the cycle for several provinces (35 companies, approximately 3,000 employees).
• Ensure coordination of operational activities and compliance of payroll processing, processes and procedures.
• Manage the payroll component of the company vehicle policy and expense accounts.
• WSIB Discount and Payment Management.
• Responsible for the complete year-end process

Strategic Component

• Create various reports and analyse them in order to strategically support various internal clients in decision-making.
• Participate in various special projects, as well as initiatives to improve and standardize processes and procedures related to payroll.
• Support during mergers and acquisitions of new companies.

Team Management Component

• Support the Supervisor, Payroll with team management.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar position.
• Experience in multi-province payroll.
• Experience on HRIS (an asset).
• Experience supervising staff (an asset).
• Bilingualism (English and French). This is required since you will have to collaborate with people from English-speaking provinces.
• Very good command of Excel.
• Very good interpersonal relationships and ability to communicate.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills, resourcefulness, initiative and proactivity
• Ability to work in a changing environment.
