Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Coordinator/Finance Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring accurate payroll processing and compliance with relevant regulations, contributing to our mission of delivering exceptional landscaping services.
Responsibilities
Processing bi-weekly payroll for 2 registered companies using a 3rd party software program (Payworks)
Payroll tasks include:
o Understanding of Provincial/Federal employment & labor standards
o Processing bi-weekly timecards using project management software and importing employee time into payroll software.
o Calculating stat pay - software generated (but basic understanding of calculations and employment standards).
o Issuing ROE's and Annual T4's
o Entering journal entries for bi-weekly payroll, plus entering inter-company for wages/MERCS
o Running, analyzing and reviewing payroll reports
o Assist with payroll reporting for WCB and BC Health Tax.
o Assist management with wage reporting and forecasting
Work with the human resource manager to help onboard new employees. Assist with new employee enrollment in Buildertrend and Payworks. Coordinate benefits for payroll deductions and wage increases.
AP processing which includes entering and coding of bills, payment and sending remittances to vendors. Reconciling monthly vendor statements.
AR processing which includes creating and sending invoices to customers and monitoring collections
Completing monthly bank reconciliations
Master cards - entering transactions and reconciling statements monthly
Maintain office supplies and services
Reception dues such as answering phones in a professional manner and relaying accurate messages to management and other staff members.
Social committee tasks such as organizing company events
Qualifications
Payroll Compliance or Payroll Administration Certificate will be considered assets.
3+ years of relevant experience in accounting, bookkeeping or payroll administration is required.
Experience with Payworks and QuickBooks Online are assets but not mandatory.
Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office)
Excellent verbal and communication skills
Attention to detail to ensure accurate coding
Basic understanding of good business principles with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Organizational skills to assist multiple employees with various tasks at one time
Adaptability and flexibility to adjust priorities at any given time
Ability to handle sensitive information in a professional manner
Please note that this is not a remote position. The successful candidate will be required to work on-site at our office location in Kelowna, BC.

Pay: $26.00-$30.00 per hour
