Payroll Clerk/billing Administrator

Job Description

Reporting to Vice President, this position is responsible for supporting our Payroll Team. The Team is responsible for processing a full cycle biweekly payroll for Non-Union employees through Time and Attendance. This includes all aspects of new hires, Leave of Absences, Terminations, payroll, adjustments, and corrections as well as processing necessary changes/updates to employee profiles.

Prepare bi-weekly, monthly remittances and departmental reporting relating to payroll, WSIB, Garnishments, benefits and insurance premiums. Benefits Administration to include enrollment, maintenance and benefit termination.

Process and monitor payroll related deductions or other changes in accordance with legislative requirements, 2 and company standards. Support in the collection of data requested for internal and external audits. Assist in other projects as assigned

Specific Responsibilities



Assist in the processing of New Hires, Leave of Absences, Return to Works and Terminations.

Reviewing and completing employee information requests. Assist in reviewing and processing of the Biweekly payroll. Biweekly report processing for both internal and external shareholders. Biweekly and Monthly remittances for 3rd party payments and remittances.

Job duties This group performs some or all of the following duties: Maintain and update employee information, such as records of employee attendance, leave and overtime to calculate pay and benefit entitlements, in Canadian and other currencies, using manual or computerized systems

Prepare and verify statements of earnings for employees, indicating gross and net salaries and deductions such as taxes, garnishments and insurance and pension plans

Prepare, verify and process all employee payroll related payments, including regular pay, benefit payments, and special payments such as bonuses and vacation pay

Complete, verify and process forms and documentation for administration of benefits such as leaves.

Compile, review, and monitor statistical reports, statements, and summaries related to pay and benefits accounts

Prepare and balance period-end reports and reconcile issued payrolls to bank statements

Identify and resolve payroll discrepancies

May be responsible for the development or implementation of payroll policies, procedures or processes and other duties as assigned

Ability to be organized with a strong eye for detail

Skills and Qualifications

Enrolled in a College degree Finance or Payroll course or equivalent High level of Excel proficiency required (Intermediate skill level) Superior attention to detail, accuracy is a must. Demonstrated ability to work with sensitive and confidential information in a professional manner Ability to work in a deadline-sensitive environment

Ability to communicate effectively - written and verbal

Possess sound judgment, planning, and exceptional

organizational skills

Excellent problem identification and resolving skills Ability to collaborate and support managers and team members Adapt quickly and efficiently to new situations, effectively coordinate under pressure and deadlines

Pay: $40,670.08-$55,000.00 per year
