Payroll Clerk (Part-Time) - The Gravity Group

Position Overview



We're seeking a Payroll Clerk (Part-Time) to join our head office in Lindsay. This role is responsible for managing weekly and bi-weekly payroll for multiple companies within The Gravity Group, ensuring every employee is paid accurately and on time. You'll work closely with our finance and operations teams to maintain compliance, accuracy, and efficiency in all payroll functions.

Key Responsibilities



Collect, verify, and input weekly and bi-weekly timesheets across all Gravity divisions. Process payroll accurately and on schedule. Maintain and update employee payroll records and personnel files. Prepare and remit source deductions, WSIB, EHT, and other government filings. Support year-end reconciliation, T4 preparation, and reporting. Address payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries. Ensure compliance with CRA and provincial labour regulations. Assist with accounting data entry and administrative support as needed.

Schedule & Structure



Monday:

8:00 AM - 3:00 PM - Timesheet collection and verification.

Tuesday:

8:00 AM - 3:00 PM - Payroll processing and CRA remittances.

Thursday:

8:00 AM - 2:00 PM - Reconciliation, filing, and reporting.

Total:

Approximately 20 hours per week.

Qualifications



2+ years of payroll or bookkeeping experience preferred. Experience managing both weekly and bi-weekly payrolls. Knowledge of multi-entity payroll or construction industry payroll is an asset. Experience with accounting or payroll software (QuickBooks, Payment Evolution). Excellent attention to detail and data accuracy. Understanding of CRA compliance and Ontario employment standards. Strong organizational and communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and general office applications.
