The Opportunity:
This position is responsible for the coordination and administration of Payroll for approximately 120 employees at KKCFSS. You will work closely with the Finance and Human Resource teams to ensure our employees are paid accurately and on time.
In the Role of Payroll Clerk, You Will:
Function with ethics, integrity, and confidentiality.
Process bi-weekly payroll for approximately 100 employees according to provincial regulations and KKCFFS policies.
Ensure accuracy and compliance with governmental reporting requirements.
Have clear, open and consistent communication internally and externally, representing the organization professionally and ethically.
Ensure that all taxes are collected and remitted according to government regulations.
Ensure proper approvals and authorizations according to the established delegation of authorities.
PrepareT4s, T4As, and summary, including reconciliation of taxable benefits, payroll remittances, general ledger, wages, and expenses.
Process new hires, terminations and authorized changes in payroll, and edit and review payroll data for accuracy and correctness.
Process employee termination of employment including the issuance of Record of Employment (ROE) in the appropriate time frame.
Provide information as required to Human Resources Development Canada and Canada Revenue Agency on payroll remittance and employment matters.
Maintain the Sage Payroll Database.
Administer and prepare bi-weekly payroll general ledger transactions.
Prepare necessary payments and reports for timely remittance of taxes, garnishments, benefit plan contributions etc. in compliance with regulatory agencies and agreements.
Assist with fiscal year end projects with auditors, analyze salaries and benefits, and ensure cut off at year-end for payroll is done correctly and timely.
Calculate and prepare year-end liability accruals for salaries, wages, vacation and severance.
Act as an Administrator for the KKCFSS benefit and pension plans
What You Will Bring to the Role:
PCP certification preferred, Bachelor Degree in Business preferred, Diploma in Accounting.
5 years minimum of directly related experience.
Working knowledge of BC Labour Standards.
Strong communication skills.
