Accounting/Payroll Assistant

About the Company

Louisbourg Seafoods is a family operated seafood business, built incrementally over the past three decades. We process snow crab, lobster, shrimp, ground fish, whelk, sea cucumber and mussels and ship our products all over the world.

Who We Are Looking For

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced

Accounting/Payroll Assistant

to apply their skills and knowledge to a growing seafood company. This is a permanent position reporting to the Office Manager and located in our Sydney office.

Key Responsibilities:

Data entry in excel spreadsheets

Accounts payable and accounts receivable processing

Complete weekly payroll submissions

Preparing fisher payroll, T4s, and ROEs

Communication with fishers

Processing journal entries

Provide assistance to management with projects and administrative duties

Qualifications:

3 - 5 years experience in an accounting role

University degree or diploma in accounting or related experience

Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

General knowledge of basic accounting principles

Previous experience using Sage 300 considered an asset

Detail orientated with strong problem resolution skills

Ability to meet deadlines and take initiative

Experience with fisher payroll considered an asset
