The Payroll Analyst is responsible for managing all aspects of bi-weekly payroll processing for hourly and salaried employees. Key responsibilities include generating payroll reports, managing payments to third-party vendors, producing Records of Employment (ROEs), addressing queries related to accounting entries, and responding to Service Canada inquiries. The Payroll Analyst demonstrates excellent interpersonal and communication skills, maintains a professional attitude, and effectively interacts with staff at all levels of the organization.
In this role, you will:
Prepare and produce bi-weekly staff payrolls.
Investigate and resolve all exceptions from reports generated by the UKG Dimensions system.
Liaise with Supervisors and HRIS colleagues on all matters related to staff semi-monthly payrolls.
Prepare off-cycle payrolls for staff transfers, including producing Records of Employment (ROEs) and submitting to Service Canada.
Assist Payroll Manager with year-end payroll tasks.
Provide backup support to other Payroll team members, including the other Payroll Analyst and Payroll Manager, during absences.
Perform other duties as assigned.
You bring:
National Payroll Institute (PCP) designation an asset or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 2 years of payroll experience.
Previous experience working within a not-for-profit organization.
Experience in computerized payroll systems.
Strong computer skills including advanced Excel, Word, computerized payroll packages, and knowledge of Access an asset.
Detail-oriented with superior analytical skills.
Well-developed interpersonal and relationship-building skills with the ability to establish rapport and communicate effectively with members, staff, and volunteers.
Excellent written, oral communication, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent understanding of diversity, inclusion, and equity including the ability to identify and address barriers, work effectively with diverse stakeholders, and integrate equity into program design.
