Overview

We\xe2\x80\x99re looking for experienced Payroll Analyst who will be responsible for a variety of duties relating to the computerized and business needs of the payroll department at WorkSafeBC. This includes acting as a liaison between functional and technical users of WHRAPS.

Are you a resourceful, self-motivated individual who can complete full-cycle payroll processing? Do you have experience working with a large complex payroll system? We are looking for a Payroll Analyst who will contribute to the ongoing maintenance, development, and enhancement of the system.

In this role, you\xe2\x80\x99ll work primarily from your B.C. home and occasionally in our Richmond office.

What you\'ll do

  • Act as the main functional and technical resource in payroll for the financial systems analysts\xe2\x80\x99 team, HR Business group, and all users.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of payroll transactions by creating and maintaining regular audits and reconciliation between HR Systems, General Ledger, and Canada Revenue Agency remittances and reports.
  • Coordinate operational processes between functional areas such as Benefits, Disability Management, Payroll, Recruitment, and more.
  • Evaluate, determine, and respond to clients\xe2\x80\x99 needs for payroll system queries; liaise with financial systems analysts to develop ad hoc queries based on operational needs.
  • Coordinate with our financial systems analysts to support problem resolution for payroll system related issues, investigate and document problems as identified; provide explanations and implement process changes.
  • Develop training manuals and instructional materials for payroll system; provide training to groups and individuals; provide follow-up support to users and evaluate effectiveness of training.

  • Identify business process opportunities for clients; implement solutions and provide recommendations.
  • Understand and analyze the functions of a payroll system; perform configuration and day-to-day troubleshooting of a payroll system application.
  • Provide oversight and advice in resolving system related issues.
  • Take initiative in identifying and initiating tasks
Your background and experience
  • A degree or diploma in a related discipline such as computer systems technology, computer science, or accounting.
  • A minimum of 3-6 years of real time experience processing full payroll cycle.
  • Hands-on year-end processing, CRA filings, account reconciliation
  • Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of payroll systems \xe2\x80\x93 PeopleSoft Oracle for Payroll North America (WHRAPS) is a strong asset.

Salary: $34.78 \xe2\x80\x93 $37.37/hourly
