Job Description

BAT Construction (2023) Ltd. is a Canadian leader in Slope Stabilization and Geotechnical Construction, and we are expanding to meet the growing demand for our expert services.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Payroll Administrator to manage and support our payroll processes. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, a solid understanding of payroll and employment standards, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

This role requires technical expertise, a strong commitment to confidentiality, and the ability to work under strict timelines.

Main Duties and Responsibilities



Process timely and accurate payroll for 100-150 employees in coordination with our third-party accounting team. Collect employee records, onboarding packages, and status changes for submission to the accounting team. Verify and input employee timecards and expense forms. Provide information to employees and managers on payroll matters, tax issues, and collective agreement provisions. Track employee leave time (vacation, personal, and sick days). Support the preparation of monthly union remittances. Maintain confidentiality of all payroll information. Assist with audits and ensure compliance with company policies and applicable legislation.

Qualifications



Diploma or bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certificate or other recognized payroll certification is an asset. Minimum 3 years of experience in payroll administration. Experience with Sage 50, HCSS, or similar payroll systems preferred. Knowledge of employment standards and unionized payroll environments is an asset. Strong Excel and data entry skills. Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality. Strong communication and organizational skills.
