We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Administrator to manage and oversee payroll processes within our organization. This position includes tracking, tabulating, recording and reporting time and attendance, payroll processing and reporting, government remittances, payroll related bank and ERP system entries, and reconciliation of payroll related accounts. The Payroll Administrator will play a key role in maintaining compliance with company policies and regulatory standards, contributing to smooth financial operations.
Duties
Process and administer payroll for 200+ employees accurately and in a timely manner using VISTA payroll system, ensuring adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements.
Responsible for setting up new employees, processing T4s and issuing ROEs.
Liaise with HR to administer details in VISTA payroll system for Pension and Benefits.
Verify and reconcile timekeeping records, attendance, and leave balances to calculate accurate payroll figures.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee payroll records, including personal information, tax withholding forms, direct deposit information, and salary changes.
Respond promptly and professionally to payroll inquiries from employees, providing assistance and resolving any issues or discrepancies.
Collaborate with HR team members to ensure accurate employee data is maintained and shared as needed for payroll processing; provide support for various HR initiatives.
Administer bi-weekly, monthly government remittances, and reconciliations.
Prepare payroll analyses and reports as needed.
Skills
Proven experience in payroll processing and administration.
In-depth knowledge of payroll regulations, tax laws, and labour legislation.
Proficiency in using payroll software and related systems; preference for experience with VISTA.
Strong attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity and discretion.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve payroll-related issues efficiently.
Strong Microsoft office skills, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
