Job Description

Join our team as a Payroll Administrator! In this role, you'll process bi-weekly U.S. and Canadian payrolls, ensuring accuracy and compliance. You'll validate timesheets and schedules across all business units, maintaining accurate employee schedules and timekeeping data. You'll resolve payroll inquiries and tickets, reconcile payroll reports, and support year-end payroll activities. You'll collaborate with the People & Culture team to ensure all employee updates and changes are accurately reflected in the payroll system.



The ideal candidate will be based in our Home Office in Calgary.


What You'll Do




Review, validate, and manage employee timekeeping, including timesheets, schedules, overtime, and leave balances, ensuring accuracy and timely approvals prior to payroll cut-offs Manage and resolve payroll tickets and employee inquiries by triaging, tracking, investigating, and correcting payroll-related issues in a timely manner Process end-to-end U.S. and Canadian payroll cycles, including regular and off-cycle payrolls, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance Maintain accurate employee payroll records by processing new hires, terminations, job changes, compensation updates, and benefit deductions in payroll system Ensure compliance with U.S. federal and state and Canadian federal and provincial payroll legislation, including statutory deductions and garnishments Reconcile payroll reports and support audits in collaboration with the Finance team Support year-end payroll activities by validating data and adjustments, ensuring compliance with statutory deadlines and timely completion Document and enhance timekeeping, ticketing, and payroll processes by maintaining procedures and supporting continuous improvement initiatives Additional duties as required

What You Bring




Diploma or degree in Payroll, Accounting, Finance, or a related field Payroll certification (CPP, PCP, or equivalent) 3-5 years of experience managing payroll administration, including full cycle Canadian and U.S. payroll processing Proficient in timekeeping, scheduling, and payroll systems (UKG, ADP, Workday), Strong knowledge of payroll legislation (CPP, EI, QPP, QPIP, FICA, state taxes), payroll reconciliations and reporting, administration of taxable and pre-tax benefits, and management of garnishments and statutory deductions Proficient in Microsoft Excel Experience maintaining system accuracy and supporting compliance and audit processes Strong attention to details and problem-solving and critical thinking skills Excellent time management skills with the ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment Accountability and ownership while handling sensitive payroll and HR data with discretion and confidentiality Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and professionally A collaborative, adaptable, and proactive team player with a growth mindset, able to manage changing priorities effectively Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment Bilingualism English/French is considered an asset
