What is the opportunity:


Reporting to the VP Business Services & CPO, the Payroll Administrator is responsible to perform and oversee all functions related to payroll for Energy Safety Canada. This position will also provide support to the Accounting and Finance team.

What will you do:

• You will enter new hire related information into regular payroll, Registered Retirement Savings Plan benefits, etc.
• Import information from ADP Workforce Now (WFN) for processing payroll cycles and liaise with Human Resources to confirm accuracy of information.
• Conduct month end duties for Energy Safety Canada - reconcile general ledgers at month end including bank reconciliation and employee payables.
• Provide back up support to the Accounts Payable (AP) team.
• Process termination information into ADP WFN and process Records of Employment (ROEs) via the Service Canada process.
• Code monthly billing cycles for benefits providers such as Equitable Life and Worker's Compensation Board (WCB).
• Year End Payroll related reconciliation (including all T4's) and prepare annual WCB reports.
• Update RRSP files and remit funds to the RRSP provider as required.
• Enter the Electronic Funds Transfers (EFT) for Accounts Receivable (AR) on a daily basis.
• Other duties as required.

What you need to succeed:

• Post-secondary education diploma or certificate in Accounting or Business Administration or related field
• 3+ years of experience working in an accounting role or payroll
• Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) designation is preferred
• Experience working in ADP WFN or related payroll software programs
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Office - Outlook, Word, Excel
• High degree of accuracy and strong attention to detail
• Exemplary interpersonal skills and exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Well organized and able to manage multiple tasks quickly and accurately
