We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Administrator to join our team. The Payroll Administrator will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll for William Day Construction Limited. This role involves various clerical and accounting tasks, including data management, and maintaining up-to-date employee information relevant to payroll.
Key Responsibilities:
Process bi-weekly payroll for all salaried and hourly employees.
Review coding and ensure the accuracy of approved timesheets.
Coordinate with departments such as Human Resources to maintain accurate employee data.
Address employee inquiries regarding payment and resolve payment issues.
Track and record employee absences including vacation, personal days, sick leave, and extended leaves of absence.
Extract and review timesheets for completeness and accuracy.
Allocate work hours to correct cost centers and follow up on missed timesheets.
Create and maintain payroll profiles for new employees.
Ensure timely and accurate wage changes for affected pay periods.
Stay updated with payroll regulations, standards, and procedures.
Provide general administrative support, including answering calls, directing inquiries, and assisting with data entry.
Skills and Qualifications:
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in payroll processing and clerical accounting procedures.
Proficiency in data entry with a high level of accuracy.
Ability to handle confidential information discreetly and professionally.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word).
Capability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent customer service demeanor.
Exceptional organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Current criminal record check.
Additional Skills Required:
Familiarity with payroll software systems (e.g., Jonas, ADP, Paychex).
Understanding of payroll tax laws and regulations.
Knowledge of general accounting principles.
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
