Overview

We're looking for an analytical, detail-oriented and motivated individual to join our Payment Review and Compliance (PRC) department as a payment compliance analyst. The PRC department is responsible for payment reviews and assists with corporate fraud risk reviews. You will work under minimum supervision using your expertise to analyze payment data and business process reengineering, in order to identify payment anomalies and help improve payment processes at WorkSafeBC. You'll be responsible to solve problems and make decisions with a high degree of complexity and independence.

WorkSafeBC has adopted a hybrid model offering opportunities to work remotely and onsite based on the operational needs of the position. At this time, this is a hybrid position where you will work primarily at home and be on-site at our Richmond office occasionally.

This is a 18 months temporary assignment.

What you'll do

As a payment review and compliance analyst you will:

  • Lead and participate in the development of payment monitoring processes by gathering requirements, documenting procedures and processes, and seeking opportunities to streamline and/or make improvements in all areas
  • Lead and participate in payment analysis, statistical analysis, projects, and interview internal stakeholders to understand risks and controls
  • Conduct analysis and statistical analysis based on risk; present detailed findings and recommendations of releasing payments and internal payment controls, noting any fraud related concerns
  • Conduct research on claim files, contracts, and analyze the information to support findings and make recommendations to business clients
  • Provide a quality assurance role and ensure consistency of payment review practices; making decisions and solving problems that have a high degree of complexity and/or sensitivity, independently
  • Deliver presentations on Payment Review Compliance (PRC) findings to business clients with a high degree of professionalism

  • Exhibit superior verbal and written communication skills, and exceptional organizational skills
Your experience and educational background:
  • A Bachelor's degree in a related discipline such as business administration, accounting, or economics
  • A minimum of 3 years of recent work experience directly related to one of more of the following: data analysis, audit, financial analysis, systems analysis, and/or data knowledge management
  • An equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered
