About the Role



We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and proactive

Payment Operations Analyst

to join our growing fintech team. This role bridges finance and operations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance across all financial workflows. The ideal candidate will be hands-on with

bank reconciliations, accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and daily financial operations

while also supporting treasury management and audit readiness.

Key Responsibilities



Bank Reconciliation



Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations across multiple banks, payment processors, and internal ledgers. Review detailed transaction files and ensure all bank transactions are properly recorded and reconciled

.

Investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly, including ACH/EFT returns, card settlements, and wallet balances. Ensures compliance with established policies, procedures, and all applicable laws. Support audit and compliance reporting with reconciliation documentation.

Accounts Payable (AP)



Process vendor invoices, expense reimbursements, and vendor payments. Maintain accurate AP aging reports and ensure timely disbursements. Manage vendor onboarding and compliance checks.

Accounts Receivable (AR)



Generate client invoices and monitor collections. Reconcile incoming payments against accounts and ledgers. Work with clients and internal teams to resolve billing discrepancies.

Financial Operations & Treasury



Support settlement cycles, liquidity management, and cash forecasting. Monitor exception handling across payment rails (ACH, RTP, Interac, Visa, Mastercard, etc.). Collaborate with Compliance and Risk to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements (FINTRAC, SOC 2, PCI, etc.). Assist in implementing process improvements and automation for reconciliations and reporting. Assists with monitoring and maintaining risk and exposure limits.

Qualifications



Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field. 2-4 years of experience in accounting, treasury, or financial operations (fintech or payments experience strongly preferred). Familiarity with payment rails (ACH, RTP, card networks, EFT, Interac) Strong understanding of bank reconciliations, AP/AR cycles, and financial reporting. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel (such as advanced formulas, Pivot Tables, Power query, Error Checking & Data Analysis Tools, Macros and/or VBA). Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets; experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and reconciliation tools preferred. Excellent analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. Ability to interact with clients and internal teams effectively and professionally. Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as accomplish work assignments under minimal supervision and tight schedules. Self-starter with the ability to multitask. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and adherence to deadlines.
Assets

Knowledge of both the Canadian and US payments space. Experience with Power BI.

Work Schedule



Note: This is a hybrid role--two days in the office (Monday, and one other day) and three days remotely.
