Description :Big White Ski Resort is now accepting applications for the winter season for Patrol Dispatch. This role will have the same duties and responsibilities as the Ski Patroller position as well as the duties and responsibilities assigned to the dispatcher. The candidate who fills the position will likely split their time working in the field as a patroller and in the office as a dispatcher depending on the needs of the team.Duties and responsibilities include:
Dispatch duties -

• Answering telephones, radios and dealing with walk-in patients
• Using email
• Dispatching patrollers and resources to incidents and accidents
• Use dispatch software to maintain an accurate Dispatch Log
• Incident Investigation
• Risk Management
• Data entry and auditing of documentation
• Interdepartmental relations
• Assisting Patrol Management with additional tasks as needed

Ski Patrol duties -

• First Aid \xe2\x80\x93 on-snow and premises guest injuries and WorkSafe BC designated worker injuries
• Risk management
• Run maintenance
• Slope watch
• Opening and closing runs
• Missing persons
• Lift evacuations

Required qualifications/skills:

• Minimum First Aid requirement \xe2\x80\x93 must have one of the following valid first aid tickets:

• NUEC3
• OFA 3
• BC PCP or EMR (license)
• Australian Ski Patrol Association Certification
• New Zealand Patrol Certificate
• Ability to accurately type 40 wpm
• Ability to multi-task
• Ability to work in a high-pressure environment
• Knowledge of Big White Ski Resort trails and terrain
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
• Ability to learn and use new computer software
• Advanced skiing or snowboarding ability considered an asset
