Position Summary
The Patient Services Manager & Hospital Lead is a Regulated Health Professional responsible for all aspects of patient care for assigned services, including Emergency, Medicine, Patient Registration, and Endoscopy. The role provides clinical and managerial leadership, supports the interdisciplinary team, and promotes evidence-based care to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Reporting to the Patient Services Program Director, the position leads quality improvement, risk management, and resource management initiatives while modeling Quinte Health's organizational values.
As the hospital lead, this role acts as the primary contact for Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital, liaising with volunteers, the Foundation, community partners, staff, and physicians. The Manager proactively builds relationships to enhance hospital reputation, patient flow, community engagement, and overall quality of care.
Required

  • Valid registration with a Professional Healthcare Regulating Body.
  • Baccalaureate degree; commitment to or progress toward a Master's degree.
  • Minimum of 5 years recent acute care clinical experience (community hospital experience preferred).
  • Minimum of 3-5 years recent management/leadership experience preferred.
  • Strong leadership, human resources, labor relations, change management, risk management, and quality improvement skills.
  • Exceptional analytical and decision-making abilities.
  • Experience managing competing demands in a fast-paced, multi-site, interprofessional environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Effective communication and conflict resolution skills; ability to foster positive working relationships internally and externally.
  • Understanding and commitment to interprofessional practice standards.
  • Orientation toward staff development and empowerment.
Preferred
  • Health Care Management/Leadership certification or equivalent.
  • Experience leading transformational change and quality improvement projects.
Duties
Clinical & Team Leadership:
  • Directs team members in implementing standards of practice to achieve positive patient outcomes.
  • Acts as a clinical resource and supports day-to-day problem solving across services.
  • Supports discharge planning, risk management, incident management, and patient/family concerns.
  • Promotes evidence-based care and integrated care delivery.
Operational & Managerial:
  • Develops master schedules and oversees HR functions, including hiring, promotion, discipline, and performance evaluations.
  • Supports staff orientation, professional development, and student preceptorship programs.
  • Participates in implementation and maintenance of hospital information systems.
  • Monitors budgets, resource utilization, and financial performance.
Hospital Lead Responsibilities:
  • Serves as in-hospital point-of-contact for facility issues, emergency codes, and communication coordination.
  • Builds relationships with Foundation, Auxiliary, volunteers, and community partners.
  • Enhances hospital reputation, community engagement, patient flow, and partnerships.
  • Other duties as assigned.
