The Patient Care Manager (PCM) provides strategic, operational, and clinical leadership across multiple care areas at the MICs Group of Health Services, including acute care, complex continuing care, hospice, emergency, and telehealth services. Reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer, the PCM ensures the delivery of safe, patient-centered care while aligning departmental operations with organizational goals and standards.
The PCM position at Bingham Memorial Hospital includes oversight of a 20-bed long-term care unit, in addition to the standard portfolio.
As a key leader within the Patient Care Team, the PCM is responsible for care planning, quality improvement, staff performance, resource allocation, and enhancing patient and family experiences. The role requires a strong clinical background, exceptional leadership skills, and a commitment to fostering a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to healthcare delivery.
This position demands a high degree of organizational insight, critical thinking, and the ability to lead and inspire teams in a dynamic healthcare setting.
Qualifications
BScN in Nursing and graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Master's degree in Nursing or Health Administration preferred
Minimum of 5 years of experience preferred
Previous demonstrated leadership and management experience required (Leadership Management course desirable)
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to perform focused work with close attention to detail
Knowledge of clinical procedures, standards, and quality control checks
Understanding of principles and skills needed to provide patient/resident care and treatment
Ability to read and interpret professional literature, safety rules, procedure manuals, and regulations
Strong report writing and policy development skills
Budget management experience
Effective presentation and communication skills, both one-on-one and in groups
Calm and logical response to emergency situations
Strong analytical and decision-making ability
Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office, EMRs, and web-based tools
Excellent multitasking, independent work, and time management skills
Licensure/Certifications
Current, unrestricted RN registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
Certification in Nursing Administration by a nationally recognized/accredited organization
Membership with the Registered Nurses' Association of Ontario and Canadian Nurses Association (desirable)
