Patient Care Assistant
Job Description
:
MSSU is a 15 bed inpatient unit that cares for patients who have a variety of acute and complex medical patients. The team consists of physicians, registered nurses, registered practical nurses, patient care assistants, dietitians, pharmacists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, discharge planners, social worker, a respiratory therapist, a speech language pathologist, spiritual care, patient service clerks, and volunteers. Each member has a specific role to play to ensure seamless integration of care and together, they strive to provide exceptional care to each patient and family.
To assist with the provision of patient care and the efficient operation of the unit/area under the direction of a health care professional.
Education:
Completed a recognized program for personal support worker Current Basic Rescuer Certificate in Basic Cardiac Life support or willingness to obtain within 3 months of hiring Member of the Ontario Personal Support Worker Association (OPSWA) and/or Personal Support Network of Ontario (PSNO) an asset
Experience:
Previous patient care experience in health care environment or health related community work, preferred
