Overview
Arcade IP Law is a boutique intellectual property law firm operating out of Ottawa. Recently rebranded from Andrews Robichaud, our practice is growing, and we are looking for a patent agent, patent agent trainee or patent lawyer to help us in our next phase.
The successful applicant will be generally handling patent drafting and prosecution, primarily in the field of electronics, mechanics, and computer sciences (software and AI-related technologies). The applicant will also conduct prior art, freedom to operate and patentability searches in these fields.
The applicant will also have opportunities to do additional work with our IP litigation team.
Qualifications
Education / Experience:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a closely related field. Applicant with a background in biotechnology are also encouraged to apply.
- Registered CPATA Patent Agent (Class 1) or Agent in Training (Class 3).
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience, for example exposure to IP, searching, drafting and prosecuting patent applications.
- Excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
French not required but considered an asset.
