:Position SummaryThe Pastry Demi Chef at Gordon Ramsay Restaurant assists the Pastry Chef de Partie in the preparation and presentation of pastry related dishes to ensure the exceptional standards of the Gordon Ramsay brand are consistently met. This role requires basic culinary skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The Pastry Demi Chef supports the overall kitchen operations, ensures the effective operation of their designated section and contributes to an exceptional fine-dining experience for our guests. This role adheres to the Company\'s policies and procedures, leads by example and embodies Great Canadian\'s service culture, while establishing a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members.Key Accountabilities

  • Assist in the creation, preparation and presentation of the pastry and dessert recipes following Gordon Ramsay brand standards.
  • Provide support to the Pastry Chef de Partie in managing the section, ensuring consistency and quality in every pastry and dessert served.
  • Help maintain high standards of food quality and presentation.
  • Keep workstations clean and organized, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
  • Assist in monitoring stock levels, proper storage, and rotation of ingredients.
  • Work closely with the Pastry Chef de Partie and other kitchen staff to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
  • Learn and follow kitchen protocols and cooking/baking techniques as instructed by senior chefs.
  • Ensure all kitchen equipment in your section is properly maintained and cleaned.
  • Develop and cultivate strong working relationships with the rest of the kitchen staff.
  • Follow waste management procedures to minimize waste and manage food costs.
  • Ensure compliance with licensing laws, health, and safety regulations at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or directed.
Education and Qualifications
  • Available to work up to 40 hours per week and or as business requires in a variety of shifts including days, evenings, weekends as we operate seven days a week.
  • Minimum 1-year culinary experience in a high-end restaurant or similar establishment.
  • Basic culinary skills with a willingness to learn and improve.
  • Keen eye for detail to ensure every dish meets quality and presentation standards.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to different kitchen environments and requirements.
  • Good communication skills to effectively collaborate with kitchen staff.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, capable of working efficiently under pressure.
  • High School Diploma or combination of education and experience.
  • Level 1 FoodSafe or equivalent Safe Food Handlers certification.
  • WHMIS, SIR, MSDS or ability to obtain.
  • Successfully obtain Gaming Policy Enforcement Branch (\xe2\x80\x9cGPEB\xe2\x80\x9d) registration.
  • A willingness to learn, develop and achieve new skills for personal and professional development.
