We are currently looking for a PASTRY COOK to join our dynamic team at BLACK+BLUE STEAKHOUSE. Black+Blue is a premier dining destination offering the magic of a classic steakhouse combined with a modern, energetic ambiance. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES:
Responsible for creating and preparing confectionery and other pastry-based items in accordance with existing menu
Inspect the quality of ingredients and accurately measure them for specific recipes
Execute pastry orders as per spec and garnishing requirements
Ensure compliance with food handling safety regulation, health and safety workplace policies and procedures
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum 2 years of pastry cook, baker or similar
Completion of related pastry culinary program, is an asset
Food Safe certification, or wiling to train
Energetic with a passion for everything "sweet" and a positive outlook
Creative ability in design and decorating
Workable knowledge of kitchen equipment
Solid understanding of standard measurements and portions
Must be able to follow oral and written instructions
Excellent team player and camaraderie with others
Must have physical stamina to lift moderate amounts of weight
Ability to stand for long periods of time
Organizational Skills and team player
