Job Summary


We are seeking a talented and passionate Pastry Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in baking and cake decorating, along with experience in food preparation within a restaurant and bakery environment. Also experience with Asian baked goods and flavours. Experience in a supervisor or management position. This role requires creativity, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality pastries that delight our customers. Wage to be determined based on experience.

Responsibilities



Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, cakes, and desserts according to established recipes and standards. Decorate cakes and pastries with artistic flair, ensuring presentation meets our quality expectations. Assist in the development of new dessert recipes and menu items that align with seasonal offerings. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry station, adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines. Handle food products safely, ensuring proper storage and packaging to maintain freshness. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service during busy periods while maintaining high standards of quality. Provide excellent customer service by engaging with guests when necessary and accommodating special requests. Supervise, train, schedule, a small team. Coordinate orders, catering, events, production sheets, inventory. Ordering and receiving of supplies. Food safety and Sanitation .

Experience



Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or in a similar role within the food industry is preferred. Strong skills in cake decorating and baking techniques are essential. Familiarity with food handling practices and food safety regulations is required. Previous experience in a restaurant setting is advantageous, along with general kitchen experience. Previous experience as a supervisor or management role. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team are important for success in this role. Pay: $21.00-$26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
