The Pastry Chef at Kitchen76 is responsible for leading the pastry program, overseeing the preparation, production, and presentation of all desserts and baked goods. Working closely with the Executive Chef and culinary leadership team, the Pastry Chef develops seasonal menus, trains pastry staff, manages inventory, and upholds the culinary standards and brand integrity of Kitchen76 and Two Sisters Vineyards.
Key Responsibilities
Design and execute seasonal dessert menus that align with Kitchen76's elevated Italian-inspired culinary style
Lead daily production and service of plated desserts and baked goods within the pastry section
Ensure all pastry items meet high standards of taste, texture, and presentation
Stay current with industry trends and incorporate modern pastry techniques where appropriate
Train, mentor, and supervise pastry cooks, ensuring proper techniques and kitchen protocols are followed
Work closely with the Executive Chef and broader culinary team to ensure seamless service and event execution
Oversee inventory, ordering, and cost control for all pastry ingredients and supplies
Minimize food waste through proper storage, portioning, and ingredient use
Ensure strict adherence to food safety and sanitation protocols
Ensure pastry station is organized and service-ready at all times
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Executive Chef or management team
Qualifications & Requirements
3-5 years in a pastry role, with 1-2 years supervisory experience.
Culinary degree or diploma in Baking & Pastry Arts is preferred
Valid Safe Food Handler's Certificate (required prior to start or proof of scheduled testing)
Knowledge of classic and modern pastry techniques.
Ability to lead a team in a high-volume, fine dining kitchen with precision and composure
Exceptional attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills
Ability to lift up to 50?lbs and maintain prolonged standing.
Reliable transportation to and from the workplace
