Position Overview
As the Pastry Chef at Cabot Cape Breton, you will lead all aspects of pastry production, focusing on creating exceptional cuisine through innovative product development, food safety, and team training. This role requires a natural leader who inspires positivity and passion, mentoring the team to achieve high employee engagement, industry recognition, and consistent excellence. You will play an integral part in the resort's culinary operations, demonstrating a strong work ethic and sound business practices while collaborating with the food and beverage leadership team to uphold the resort's reputation for outstanding dining experiences.

Preferred qualifications and skills:Degree or diploma in the culinary field or equivalent industry experience Verbal and interpersonal communications skills Multi-tasking and complex problem solving in high pressure situations Positive attitude and attendance record at all times Highly responsible and reliable


Requirements of the role you should be aware of:Based on the nature of our business and the service we provide to our guests, to work with us, you must consent to a criminal background check as a condition of employment and an additional criminal background check every two years. As a seasonal resort business, you can anticipate a schedule that will involve day, evening, night, and weekend work. Long hours moving around, walking, standing, and using knife skills Frequently lifting and carrying heavy objects Occasionally ascending and descending stairs and ramps Occasionally kneeling, pushing, pulling, and lifting Working in a hot, intense kitchen that does a significant volume of food Other physical demands associated with a busy food & beverage operation
