Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Party Chief to lead our surveying team in the field. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in construction and legal surveying, with expertise in data collection and management. This role requires proficiency in AutoCAD, GIS, and CAD software, as well as the ability to effectively manage databases. The Party Chief will be responsible for ensuring accurate data collection and maintaining high standards of quality throughout the surveying process.

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise field survey crews to ensure efficient operations and adherence to project timelines. Utilize AutoCAD and GIS software for mapping, data analysis, and project documentation. Conduct thorough data collection using various surveying instruments and techniques. Manage and maintain databases related to survey data, ensuring accuracy and accessibility. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met. Train and mentor junior staff on surveying techniques, equipment operation, and safety protocols. Prepare detailed reports on survey findings and present results to clients or project teams. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies during field operations.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Party Chief or in a similar role within the construction or surveying industry. Proficiency in Data Collector software, GPS and instruments and other relevant tools for data management. Strong understanding of surveying principles, practices, and equipment. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for accurate data collection and reporting. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in various outdoor environments. Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders. Familiarity with database management systems is a plus.
