Abbeyfield Houses of Vancouver Society is seeking a compassionate and reliable
Part-Time Cook
to join our small, friendly team. You'll be cooking home-style meals for a close-knit group of independent seniors in a welcoming family-style residence located in the heart of Marpole.Key Responsibilities:
Plan and prepare lunch and dinner for approximately 15-18 residents Accommodate special dietary needs (e.g., low sodium, diabetic-friendly) Maintain a clean, organized kitchen environment Ensure food safety and hygiene standards are met Occasionally assist with grocery inventory and ordering
Qualifications:
3 years of experience cooking in a professional or residential setting Strong understanding of nutrition and safe food handling Food Safe Level 1 certification (or willingness to obtain) Friendly, patient, and respectful demeanor A Criminal Record Check will be required
Schedule:
Daytime shifts (approx. 6-8 hours) on 1-2 weekdays or weekends Flexibility to fill in occasionally for vacations or absences is a plus
