Part Time Tutor
Job Description
The Sylvan Learning Centre is now looking for energetic and motivated individuals to join our team on a part-time basis for the 2022-23 school year (September 2022-June 2023).Your duties as a tutor at our centre will consist of:- Working either with students in a one-on-one or small group setting- Teaching prepared materials to students and/or providing homework support- Tracking student progressSkills that we look for in potential tutors:- Previous experience working with kids, either in a professional or volunteer setting- High level of patience- Ability to manage tasks adequately and appropriately in busier environments- Very clear and strong verbal/written communication skills- Knowledge in high-school math, sciences, French, and/or English highly preferred- Availability to work 4-10 hours 3-8pm Monday-Friday and/or 10am-4pm SaturdayPlease note that this job-listing is for an in-person position at our centre.Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 4-10 per weekSalary: From $15.00 per hourSchedule:
- Evening shift
- Thornhill, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
- What subjects are you comfortable and confident teaching/tutoring in? Please include up to which grade. (Ex. Math, up to grade 10)
- Secondary School (preferred)
- teaching: 1 year (preferred)
- English (preferred)
