or someone who is in process of getting OCT

to join our team, ensuring our students receive instruction from qualified professionals trained in pedagogy, curriculum, and assessment.

Position Summary



We are hiring a dedicated

Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT)

or someone who is in process of getting OCT

to serve as an expert academic coach for high school students (Grade 9-12) in all streams of Mathematics and Science. The ideal candidate is a recent B.Ed. graduate or a seasoned teacher with superior knowledge of senior-level curriculum, particularly in university-preparation courses.

Key Responsibilities



I. High-Impact Instruction & Curriculum Mastery



The Educator will provide specialized one-on-one and small-group (up to 3 students) tutoring, focusing on conceptual clarity, skill development, and exam preparation. This requires deep subject mastery across the following key Ontario course codes:

Mathematics (Grade 9 & 10)



Core Course Codes & Focus

MPM1D/MPM2D

(Principles of Mathematics),

MTH1W

(De-streamed Math). Focus on foundational algebra, geometry, and numeracy.

Senior Math (Grade 11 & 12)



Core Course Codes & Focus

-

MCR3U

(Functions),

MCV4U

(Calculus and Vectors),

MHF4U

(Advanced Functions),

MDM4U

(Data Management).

Science

(Grade 9 & 10)



Core Course Codes & Focus

SNC1W/SNC2D

(Science). Focus on essential scientific inquiry and cross-curricular concepts.

Senior Sciences

(Grade 11 & 12)



Core Course Codes & Focus

SBI3U/4U

(Biology),

SCH3U/4U

(Chemistry),

SPH3U/4U

(Physics). Focus on university-level preparation and complex theoretical models.

II. Assessment and Reporting



Diagnostic Assessment:

Utilize provided centre resources to assess student knowledge gaps and strengths.

Progress Monitoring:

Track student achievement and adjust instructional strategies to ensure measurable growth.

Reporting:

Maintain professional and accurate digital records of all sessions, including session notes and communication logs, for transparent reporting to the Centre Director and parents.

III. Professionalism and Development



Adhere strictly to the professional standards, ethical guidelines, and policies set by the Ontario College of Teachers and IntelliX Educational Services.

Maintain excellent and timely professional communication with the Centre Director and parents regarding student academic plans and progress.

Commit to ongoing professional learning to remain current with curriculum changes and pedagogical best practices.

Qualifications



Mandatory Requirements



Certification:

May hold a current, active, and in-good-standing license from the

Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT)

or someone who is in process of getting OCT.



Teaching Division:

Qualifications in the

Intermediate and Senior (I/S) Divisions

are highly preferred.

Education:

A Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) and a corresponding undergraduate degree in a relevant Mathematics or Science field.

Clearance:

Must provide a recent (within the last 12 months) satisfactory

Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS)

Check or obtain one immediately upon conditional offer of employment.

Essential Skills and Attributes



Curriculum Depth:

Proven ability to transition students successfully from Grade 9 foundations to Grade 12 university-level material.

Pedagogical Adaptability:

Exceptional ability to translate complex curriculum concepts into accessible, engaging lessons for diverse learners.

Reliability:

Consistent availability during peak tutoring hours (evenings and weekends).

Work Ethic:

Highly professional, organized, and committed to student success.

Compensation and Schedule



Compensation:

$21.00 per hour-

$25.00 per hour

(Based on experience)

Schedule:

Part-time hours. Mandatory availability is required during peak times, including:



Weekday Evenings (Minimum two days per week)



Saturday and Sunday Shifts (Minimum one day per weekend)
