About ACOTRO



The Association of Canadian Occupational Therapy Regulatory Organizations ("ACOTRO") is the national organization of occupational therapy regulators in Canada.

As part of its mandate, the ACOTRO oversees and administers the Substantial Equivalency Assessment System ("SEAS") program. The SEAS program provides a single, centralized process for the assessment of educational qualifications and competencies of internationally educated occupational therapists ("IEOTs").

The SEAS program is now embarking on a three-year project to ensure maximum efficiency and effectiveness in the foreign credential recognition process for IEOTs - see more information about the project at https://acotro-acore.org/seas/seas-is-being-enhanced/.

About the Position



ACOTRO is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented

Part-Time Technical Support Specialist

for 15 hours per month to assist with the setup and ongoing support of the new project. This role is ideal for someone with strong technical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities



Source technology for project staff such as phones and laptops.

Assist with the initial setup, configuration, and deployment of project systems and tools.

Provide technical support to team members for the duration of the project.

Troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues as they arise.

Secure file-sharing, storage, and collaboration software such as ShareFile.

Manage and maintain all project technology systems and assets (e.g., servers, operating systems, hardware, software, third party and proprietary applications and peripherals), software licensing, and services agreements.

Plan for, set-up, test, and operate AV equipment for in person project meetings, including projectors, microphones, speakers, video conferencing systems, and displays.

Document processes, solutions implemented, and frequently asked questions to support knowledge sharing.

Collaborate with the project team to ensure smooth operations and minimal downtime.

Monitor system performance and escalate issues to senior staff or vendors when necessary.

Act as a technical subject matter resource to assist with other project areas when technical guidance is needed.

What you Bring to the Role



Minimum two (2) year College Diploma in Office Administration, Business, IT, or related field.

IT and/or technical support training is desirable. Equivalencies will be considered.

Proven experience in technical support, IT helpdesk, or a related field.

Familiarity with system purchase, setup, software installation, and troubleshooting.

Experience with and knowledge of cybersecurity.

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize multiple tasks.

Comfort with remote collaboration tools (e.g., Microsoft Teams).

Experience with specific tools/technologies relevant to the project, e.g., cloud platforms, CRMs, databases, MS suite of tools, collaboration software such as ShareFile.
