Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Staff Pharmacist to join our healthcare team. Must have a valid OCP license to practice as a pharmacist in Ontario. Week-end coverage required.

Responsibilities

Customer service oriented. Review and verify medication orders for accuracy and appropriateness. Provide patient assessments and counseling on medication therapies. Administer immunizations and manage patient care programs. Utilize pharmacy software, Fillware. Conduct inventory management to ensure adequate stock levels of medications. Collaborate with healthcare providers for patient medical management. Maintain compliance with privacy regulations and ensure patient confidentiality. Participate in clinical pharmacy services including Minor ailments consultations.

Requirements

Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited institution. Active pharmacist license in the state of practice. Experience in LTC pharmacy, hospital settings, or acute care preferred. Clinical pharmacy experience or completion of a pharmacy residency is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of pharmacotherapy, compounding medications, IV insertion, and IV infusion techniques. Familiarity with patient service principles and patient assessment methodologies. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to enhance patient outcomes. Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient education and support. Understanding of pain management principles and critical care protocols is a plus. Previous experience as a pharmacy technician is advantageous. Pay: $50.00-$60.00 per hour
