St. Charles Village Retirement Tower has been a part of the Welland Community for almost 39 years now.
We are an independent retirement facility offering our residents the chance to live their lives with enjoyment and safety while also offering them supportive care should they have care needs. This means, St. Charles Village is not a heavy care facility.
As part of the Healthcare team, you would be working a range of hours from 52-64 hours bi-weekly. You would also be required to work every second weekend.
During the week the RPN shifts would be 2:30-10:30 p.m. and weekends would be either 6:30 a..m.-2:30 p.m. or 2:30-10:30 p.m.
As a Part-time Registered Practical Nurse your duties and responsibilities would include, but are not limited to;
-Administering of medication according to doctor's orders.
-Processing orders.
-Working with pharmacies to fill prescriptions and answer questions that arise.
-Using your knowledge and skills to assess residents care needs with the practical judgement and competencies you have gained according to the standards set by the College of Nurses of Ontario.
-Documenting resident care throughout your shift and giving a full report to the next oncoming Healthcare staff member.
-Support the healthcare staff including the Healthcare Manager, Unregulated Care Providers and Personal Support Workers
-Record weights and blood pressures monthly
-Respond to resident and family member calls, questions or concerns
-Monitor activity in the building while on shift to ensure the resident wellbeing is top of mind
-Handling emergency situations when they arise

-Able to follow direction from the Healthcare Manager
-Multi-tasking and time management capabilities an asset
-Strong interpersonal skills
-Able to work as a team and on your own
Education Requirements:
-Must have a current license with the College of Nurses in Ontario
-Must possess a current First Aid and CPR certificate
Employment requirements:
-Must be willing to supply a Two Part TB Test and a Vulnerable Sector Police Check
Must be willing to work:
-Monday to Sunday
-Able to fill in for call-in shifts, including overnights when necessary
-Able and willing to work weekdays, evenings, weekends and holidays
