Lace Embrace Atelier is a celebrated corsetry boutique in Vancouver, known worldwide for our vintage-inspired creations, exquisite craftsmanship, and antique corset collection. We are all about educating people and busting the common myths and misconceptions about corsetry! Our shop is a hub for fashion history lovers, costume designers, brides-to-be, as well as burlesque and drag artists, medical customers, and those who just want to look and feel good.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about the legacy of foundational undergarments and clothing, and would like to join our team of corsetieres(definition: someone who makes or fits corsets), ensuring the preservation of this rare trade for the modern world.
Job Overview:
We're looking for a part-time team member who thrives in a beautiful retail environment and also enjoys helping behind the scenes. You'll operate in the boutique on weekends and flexible weekdays. We are also looking for a creative individual to assist with marketing and digital presence, social media content, product listings, and light video editing. Bonus if you can thread a needle and love fashion history!
Lace Embrace is looking for someone who can work in our retail store, and is willing to tackle a variety of projects and interesting new challenges. We need someone who is able to do corset (and sometimes clothing or lingerie) fittings one on one to help meet our customer's varied needs. Working in lingerie means that we need someone who values discretion and body positivity, and is happy to work with bodies of all shapes, sizes, and gender presentations to help find the best possible style and fit. We are an LGBTQ-positive space that aims to be welcoming to all peoples, and make everyone who walks through our door feel safe and comfortable.
The ability to fit garments on a body for alterations and a flattering cut is a very important skill in our business. We will train you on sizing a corset, ascertain what styles work best with which customers, and how to comfortably and safely lace up a corset for a customer.
The ability to work with instructions or on your own is an asset.
