Reporting to the Dean, the incumbent develops and deliver courses in Aviation Management program.
Courses may be scheduled and delivered during the day or evening - in person delivery in Barrie.
Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
Delivering courses in the Aviation Management programs
Developing and delivering appropriate curriculum to meet course objectives in specific areas such as
o Meteorology
o Safety and Emergency Services
o Airport/Airline Management
o Navigation and Nav Aids
Incorporating a variety of teaching / learning strategies to meet student needs
Evaluating student progress / achievement
Participating in program and college activities as required
Participating in program revision and renewal activities as required
Creating and maintaining a positive learning environment
Qualifications:
An Honours Bachelor degree in Aviation, Business Administration or related discipline
Minimum of 5 years experience in a leadership and management capacity within private and/or public sector organization
Experience managing change and leading innovation
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Commitment to life-long learning
Computer literacy: MS Office
Proven ability to work in a team environment and to foster the same in students
Experience curriculum development, a variety of delivery strategies, adult learning methodologies, academic advising, and/or student success strategies would be considered an asset
Teaching and Training Adults certification and / or experience in a teaching or training capacity is an asset
Acceptable proof of education (degrees, credentials) from recognized post-secondary institutions or confirmation of international equivalencies will be required as part of the selection process.
