We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Pharmacist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have experience in a retail pharmacy setting, particularly in acute care and pediatrics; will be committed to providing exceptional patient care; and can commit to working alternate weekends (Friday and Saturday). The Pharmacist will be responsible for ensuring safe and effective medication administration while collaborating with healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
Duties
Review and interpret physician orders for accuracy and appropriateness of therapy.
Prepare and dispense medications, including compounding when necessary.
Provide patient education on medication usage, potential side effects, and interactions.
Monitor patient responses to medications and adjust treatment plans as needed.
Collaborate with healthcare providers to develop comprehensive medication management plans.
Maintain accurate records of medication administration and patient interactions.
Stay current with medical terminology and advancements in pharmacotherapy.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and care standards.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (BScPharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited institution.
Valid pharmacist license in Ontario that is in good standing.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology and medication administration protocols.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on patient care.
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
Commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated on industry trends.
Willing to work weekends as this role will be scheduled alternate Fridays and Saturdays at a minimum.

Pay: $48.00-$52.00 per hour
