is currently looking to hire Part-Time Non-Guaranteed (

casual

) Resident Attendants.

Purpose of Job

To provide resident focused nursing care to the resident as part of the interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications:

Grade 12 education

and

Personal Support Worker course Good previous work record Mentally and physically capable of performing assigned duties Neat and clean appearance Good communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work in a team setting Ability to take direction Back In Form training (to be provided) MUST be available to work weekends

Regular Duties & Responsibilities:

Demonstrates knowledge of the Mission and Philosophy of the Nursing Home, and conducts his/her work in a manner consistent with this Mission and Philosophy. Demonstrates knowledge of and performs his/her work according to the Nursing Home's Policies and Procedures. Assists in orientation of new personnel and new residents. Utilizes Home's resources, such as supplies and equipment, economically and safely. Participates in the Nursing Home's continuous quality improvement program to improve residents, staff, department, and facility performance outcomes (Quality of Service Programs) Participates in carrying out resident care plan and all assigned work. Provides assistance to resident in activities of daily living. Responds to resident call bells. Provides incontinent care, basic catheter and ostomy care. Collects specimens such as sputum, urine and stool. Assists residents at meal time including tray set-up, feeding and supervision. Prepares and distributes snacks. Verifies individual diet guideline is followed. Assists residents with mobilization, range of motion and exercises as well as transports residents to and from in-house activities. Provides post mortem care. Participates in evaluating care by observing, reporting and recording resident responses on the flow sheets and care cards. Documents the resident's care and routine observation according to established guidelines. Ensures resident independence, safety, dignity and comfort and maintains resident confidentiality and respects the resident's right to privacy..
