Grades 7-12 English Language Arts and Social Studies

to support instruction, share resources, manage assignments, and enhance home-school communication
Design and implement
differentiated lessons and assessments
that support diverse learning needs and promote academic growth
Encourage
critical thinking, effective communication, and historical inquiry
through engaging, relevant classroom experiences
Contribute to a
positive school culture
by fostering student voice, collaboration, and respectful classroom dynamics
Collaborate with colleagues to support
cross-curricular planning

Qualifications and General Duties:
A valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
Demonstrates a student-centred philosophy committed to maximizing learning in a safe and caring environment
Proficiency with Google Suite and educational tools for communication and planning
Experience and/or training in Assessment for Learning, including formative and summative assessment strategies
Possess a strong background in the use of technology to enhance student learning
Ability to build positive relationships with students and foster a sense of belonging
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues
Commitment to ongoing professional growth and reflective practice aligned with the Alberta Teaching Quality Standard
A willingness to contribute to the school's extracurricular programs is considered an asset

With approximately 275 students, KHS offers a variety of programming including Hockey Academy, Music, off-campus courses through our partnership with Lakeland College and all academics.
