Description of Duties and Responsibilities
The housekeeper reports directly to the SCS Program Manager and will work closely with the Facilities and Safety Coordinator to ensure all building maintenance needs are being met. This individual is responsible for daily maintenance duties within the George Spady Centre on weekends and holidays. Responsibilities include ensuring sanitation, waste management, building organization and cleanliness inside and around the building is being maintained. The Housekeeper will be expected to work in a team environment and follow the policies and procedures of the George Spady Society while adhering to ethical standards in all activities.
The Housekeeper will be expected to:
Perform daily cleaning duties
Work Collaboratively with the SCS team
Maintain open communication with all teams
Interact with clients in a non-judgmental way
Attend staff meetings as required
Any other tasks assigned by the Program Manager or Team leads
Participate in the ongoing learning and training opportunities as identified on yearly performance review
Position Qualifications
High-school Education
Basic understanding of harm reduction principles abased on dignity, hope and acceptance
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
An open, accepting, and non-judgmental attitude
Experience working with facility maintenance is preferred
Current Vulnerable Sector Police Information Check
Ability to lift 50lbs
Ability to work outside in different weather conditions.
Current Police Information and Vulnerable Sector Check
CPR, First Aid, AED, and WHMIS certification.
Hours of work:
Part-time, 6 hour shifts, weekdays, weekends
