Part-Time Graphic Designer/Media Assistant

Location: Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum, Mount Hope, Ontario

About Us

The Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum is dedicated to preserving and showcasing Canada's military aviation history. With a collection of over 40 aircraft from World War II to the present, we inspire visitors through exhibitions, events, and educational programs. We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Graphic Designer/Media Assistant to join our team and help bring our stories to life visually.

Role Overview

As a Part-Time Graphic Designer/Media Assistant, you will support the museum's marketing team by creating engaging visual materials. Your work will enhance visitor experiences, promote events, and strengthen the museum's brand identity across print and digital platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Create digital assets and content for social media, website, and email campaigns.

Design a variety of promotional materials.

Collaborate with staff to develop graphics for exhibitions, events, and educational programs.

Ensure brand consistency across all visual communications.

Prepare files for print and liaise with vendors when necessary.

Contribute creative ideas to enhance visitor engagement and outreach.

Qualifications

Diploma or degree in Graphic Design or related field (or equivalent experience).

Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).

Strong understanding of typography, layout, and colour theory.

Experience designing for both print and digital platforms including video editing.

Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Interest in aviation history or museums is an asset.

Schedule & Compensation

Part-time position: approximately 15-20 hours per week.

Job duties to be completed onsite (not a remote position).

Compensation: commensurate with experience.
