Job Description

Peace River School Division requires a

Part-Time (0.80 f.t.e.) Educational Assistant

at Menno Simmons Community School. This position will commence on September 15, 2025 and continue to June 26, 2026. The successful candidate will provide classroom support for students in Kindergarten through Grade 12, assisting with learning activities, classroom organization, and student engagement. They will also work one-on-one with students who have special needs to support their individual circumstances and learning development.


Menno Simons Community School serves students in grades K-12 population, comprised of English students and ESL Mennonite students. The school is situated west of Fairview near Cleardale, Alberta, approximately 200 km west of Grande Prairie.

Qualifications:

Educational Assistant Certificate or equivalent. Experience and/or training working with student in school setting. Ability to work with children with varied ages, skills level, needs and abilities

Skills:

Willingness to be part of a learning team, take direction and follow programs without direct supervision. Willingness to attend training and professional development opportunities on individual learning and complex learning needs. Ability to be flexible to the changing classroom environment and individual child needs Ability to manage and organize programming and keep records. Good communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with teachers.

Requirements:

Provide an acceptable current Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector Check .

Rate of Pay:


$22.59 to $28.02 per hour (dependent on experience and education in accordance with the collective agreement between the CUPE Local 4839 and the Peace River School Division).
