Overview

The Building Superintendent plays a crucial role in overseeing the maintenance and operation of our facilities. This position requires a hands-on leader with strong management and supervisory skills to ensure that all systems are functioning efficiently and effectively. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in industrial maintenance, including mechanical and electrical experience, as well as proficiency in project management and leadership.

Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate maintenance staff to ensure timely completion of tasks and projects. Manage facility operations, including HVAC systems, electrical systems, and low voltage installations. Oversee the implementation of preventive maintenance programs using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS). Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify maintenance needs and ensure compliance with safety regulations. Collaborate with project teams to plan and execute facility improvements or renovations. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and inventory management. Provide training and support to maintenance staff on best practices and safety procedures. Read and interpret schematics for troubleshooting equipment issues.

Requirements

8-10 years of experience as a commercial building superintendent or running your own small business, taking care of commercial properties. Ability to demonstrate knowledge of your skills and background Willingness to tackle a variety of tasks, while managing risk and cost Thrive in organizations that constantly evolve and adapt Willingness to learn new skills Tech skills and the ability to learn is an asset Must be able to pass a criminal background check Knowledge of Ontario Building and Fire Codes preferred Strong computer skills preferred Knowledge of and certification for WHMIS, and Working at Heights. Knowledge of techniques of good body mechanics to prevent injury Able to perform varied physical work throughout the shift We will provide training on certain building systems Asset if you possess any certificates for plumbing and/or electrical
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $22.00-$30.00 per hour
