We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This role requires proficiency in various accounting software and a strong understanding of bookkeeping principles.
Responsibilities
Maintain the books of the Particular Council.
Prepare annual trial balance and submit to auditors, assisting auditors in transaction sampling.
Act as point of contact with Auditors during annual audit.
Prepare quarterly HST Public Service Rebate for Treasurer to transmit to CRA including preparing T4 statements for submission to the CRA
Prepare voucher invoices for City and Conferences and reconcile payments.
Manage accounts payable, process payroll on a bi-weekly schedule.
Calculate and process all federal, provincial and related remittance payments on time and prepare files for annual audit.
Prepare monthly and year end reporting including T4.
Reconcile bank statements.
Provide weekly and monthly sales reports to the Store Committee.
Record Cost of Goods sold.
Make recommendations when required
Requirements
5 years bookkeeping experience preferred.
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
Familiar with QuickBooks Pro and MS Office mandatory.
Self-motivated and able to think independently while working within a cohesive team.
Current Police Record Check.
Previous not for profit experience advantageous.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $23.50-$25.50 per hour
Expected hours: 8 - 10 per week
