Job Summary & Key Responsibilities
This course provides the student with the opportunity to integrate, synthesize and analyze previously developed knowledge and skills in an intensive clinical practice experience directly related to the student\xe2\x80\x99s chosen client population/discipline in an advanced nursing practice role. Practice settings will offer experiences with clients experiencing acute and chronic illness states with multiple and complex care needs. While implementing the advanced practice role, students will consider the organizational, political, and healthcare policy-related issues that relate to advanced nursing practice and change in healthcare delivery that affect role development and implementation. This appointment runs from May 1, 2023 until July 31, 2023. The part-time academic instructor reports directly to the Associate Director, Graduate Studies.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Development of teaching and learning activities related to course-specific topics
Teach course content
Assessment and evaluation of student learning
Utilization of One45 for review of student clinical learning rotations
Use of Brightspace for course delivery
Responding to student queries about coursework
Attending initial instruction with Instructional Learning Online services re: Brightspace
Participation in course discussions within the program
Develop and administer examinations
Submission of grades
Follow up with students as necessary
Qualifications/Requirements of Position Candidates must hold a graduate degree in Nursing (Nurse Practitioner) and be licensed to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in Nova Scotia. A strong clinical background in health and disease management in a Family All Ages (FAA) population along with prior teaching experience would be an asset. PhD preferred.
Salary Range/Pay Rate Per CUPE Collective Agreement
