Job Summary & Key Responsibilities


A part-time academic is required to teach INTD 1103.03, "Halifax and the World: Part II", in the winter term of the 2025-26 academic year, January 02- April 30, 2026. The part-time academic is responsible for all aspects of teaching, grading and administration of the class, including the required tutorials. In addition, the part-time academic is to be available for two hours per week outside of class time for student consultation. The part-time academic reports to the Chair of the IDS Department.

The expectation is that this course will be delivered in-person.


Qualifications/Requirements of Position


A PhD in International Development Studies or a closely related discipline. This course explores the connections between contemporary global issues and daily life in Halifax. It examines the social and environmental impacts of our daily consumption patterns and how these decisions connect us to the lives of people around the world, exposing these links through an examination of the processes of production, consumption and disposal



Previous teaching experience is an asset.


Salary Range/Pay Rate
