BIOL 1021: Introductory Biology II - Winter 2026
The instructor is responsible for the administration and online delivery of BIOL 1021 (Introductory Biology II: Organismal Biology and Ecology) during the winter of 2026, including content introduction and review in the form of webcasts and/or posts to an online discussion board, assisting students on an individual basis via e-mail and web conferences, managing teaching assistants, administering on-campus examinations, and submitting grades. Some revision of course material, in consultation with an advisor from the Accessibility Centre, may be required. The instructor will be required to travel to the Agricultural Campus in Bible Hill to supervise exams during the term. As part of the introductory biology team, the instructor attends the weekly TA meetings for BIOL 1011 (Principles of Biology II; on-campus) and may be required on an on-call basis to cover supervision or teaching of on-campus labs in that course.

Qualifications/Requirements of Position
The candidate should have a graduate degree or equivalent academic experience in Biology, and experience in the learning management system used at Dalhousie University (Brightspace) or be willing to attend training sessions prior to the start of the course. Candidates must have a strong background and interest in teaching, good communication skills, and ability to work as a team member. Additional training or experience in online learning and web technologies are assets. Candidates must have access to a vehicle to travel to Truro; mileage will be reimbursed. First time applicants must provide the names of two referees.
