Summary Of Position:
The Parts Manager is accountable for driving operational excellence across two high-volume locations. This is a hands-on leadership role overseeing Assistant Managers, a Supervisor, Parts Advisors, and Warehouse staff, ensuring seamless performance, customer satisfaction, and profitability. The successful candidate will bring proven experience in managing large teams, optimizing inventory, and achieving financial targets in a fast-paced dealership environment.
Reporting directly to the CEO, Managing Partner, the Parts Manager will monitor and deliver on all key performance indicators (KPIs) while collaborating with Service, Sales, Finance, and Accounting leaders to maximize profitability, achieve departmental and manufacturer bonus objectives, and support overall dealership growth. Key Responsibilities
Lead and mentor a multi-level team, including Assistant Managers, a Supervisor, Advisors, and Warehouse staff, fostering a high-performance culture.
Manage staff scheduling to ensure efficient coverage across two locations, balancing productivity, customer service, and labor costs.
Oversee daily operations of the Parts Department across both sites, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
Monitor, analyze, and report on departmental KPIs, presenting results and improvement plans to the Managing Director.
Optimize inventory levels, minimize obsolescence, and manage vendor return processes to protect profitability.
Collaborate with Service, Sales, Finance, and Accounting to support cross-functional performance and maximize departmental and manufacturer bonus programs.
Develop and implement strategies for wholesale and retail growth while maintaining competitive pricing and margin objectives.
Ensure compliance with manufacturer standards, dealership policies, CANUTEC regulations, and TDG requirements.
Drive staff training and certification for TDG, CANUTEC protocols, dealership training, and manufacturer-led training programs, ensuring product knowledge and safety standards remain current.
Oversee wholesale credit accounts, monitor aged accounts receivable, and partner with Finance and Accounting to reduce overdue balances and mitigate collection risks.
Collaborate with DMS providers, application software vendors, and Accounting systems to maintain system uptime, ensure data accuracy, and streamline workflows.
Qualifications
Experience in automotive parts management within a high-volume luxury dealership environment.
Proven leadership ability with success managing multi-level teams across multiple functions.
Proficiency in dealership DMS and manufacturer systems (Reynolds preferred).
Strong background in KPI management, staff scheduling, inventory control, obsolescence reduction, and vendor return programs.
Solid understanding of CANUTEC emergency reporting and Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) certification.
Demonstrated success in managing wholesale accounts and reducing aged A/R balances.
Financially astute, data-driven, and results-oriented with a track record of achieving revenue and margin targets.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
Performance Metrics
Success in this role will be measured by:
Fill Rate: Internal and retail order completion percentage.
Gross Margin %: Achievement of target margins on parts sales.
Aged Inventory %: Reduction of stock aged beyond 90 days.
RMA Velocity: Average time from vendor return initiation to credit posting.
Cycle Count Accuracy: Maintaining inventory accuracy above 98%.
Manufacturer Bonus Attainment: Meeting or exceeding program performance targets.
A/R Days Outstanding: Reduction of overdue wholesale balances and maintaining healthy receivables.
Staff Scheduling & Coverage: Maintaining efficient staffing levels, controlling overtime, and ensuring full coverage across both sites.
Compensation:
$101,000 - $130.000 per year.
Work Environment:
Our hours of operations are below. The hours and days of work are dependent on your role with a 40-hour workweek for full-time employment.
Monday to Friday from 7:30am to 6:00pm
Saturday from 8:30am to 5:00pm
